This mishnah deals with issues of idolatry, relations between Jews and Jews, and the rabbinic endeavor to protect and preserve Jewish life in the context of a world that often ran counter to Jewish beliefs and values. Invariably we will discuss modern idolatries as well, and how Jewish wisdom can help us focus on God, holiness, and loving kindness. We will celebrate the conclusion of tractate Avodah Zarah during the siyyum for the Fast of the First Born, on the morning of Erev Pesah.
