Men’s Club Activity Details
Thursday, May 17, 6:30 pm, Adult Kids Club Dinner with Rabbi Raskin.
Yuan Fu Vegetarian Chinese Restaurant (NOTE: vegan meals are available) , 798 Rockville Pike, Rockville MD. This event is open to all members of the Har Shalom Men's Club. Please RSVP to Ken Shere or send an email to adultkidsclub@harshalom.org. Let us know as early as possible if you plan to come, but not later than May 10. This should be a fun evening involving friends, good food and a chance to talk with our rabbi informally. Entrees run between $10 and $13. Assuming that we share some dishes and have soup, etc. assume that the cost will be around $20 or less.
May 20, House Tour:
Men's Club will staff one of the houses at the House Tour on Sunday, May 20th. It takes about 16 volunteers to properly staff the house during the morning and afternoon sessions. Feel free to bring along any adult non-members. Volunteers will be asked to work one half-day. Contact Mickey Burstein either directly or by emailing mensclub@harshalom.org.
TBD, Hearing Men's Voices:
No, it's not a singling group. Shortly after the holidays, the Men's Club will organize the first gatherings of a new program called "Hearing Men's Voices." The program, originated by the Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs, consists of men gathering in a comfortable meeting place to share their thoughts on a preselected topic, such as parenting teenagers, managing career and family pressures, caring for elderly parents, how Keruuv families work things out, and a long list of other possible topics (which you are encouraged to augment). If you have ever felt frustrated that you were not getting to meet and talk with other congregants in a meaningful way about subjects of mutual interest, this is a structured chance to do that. A trained facilitator will be there to smooth the flow and focus the discussion. For further information, contact Judd Kessler at 202-778-3080 (w) or 301-775-9979 (h) or jkessler@porterwright.com.
