Ruth comes to Har Shalom with over 25 years in Jewish Education. With experience as a Hebrew School teacher, B’nai Mitzvah tutor and Education Director, she is excited to be a part of the Har Shalom family. A New York City native, Ruth graduated from SUNY Buffalo with a B.A. in Biblical Archaeology. In 2013, Ruth received her Masters of Jewish Education from Baltimore Hebrew Institute at Towson University.
Ruth is deeply committed to cultivating a thriving religious school community that goes beyond just the hours of Religious School. She strives to create positive, warm connections between students, their families and their synagogue.
Ruth lives in Rockville with her husband, Andy Cohen, and her daughter, Anna. When not working with students, she can be found listening to the Beatles.
