Service Calendar

Saturday, September 21 @ 9:00 pm – Har Shalom

We begin our spiritual preparation for the High Holy Days season with Selihot Services. Gathering as a community, hearing the High Holy Days melodies, we ready ourselves for the holiness of these days. Join us at Har Shalom for Selihot services together with Congregations Adat Shalom, B’nai Tzedek, Shaare Tefila, and Shaare Torah.

Tashlikh / Minha Service

Monday, September 30 @ 4:30 pm

On the first day of Rosh Hashanah, we perform the ceremony of Tashlikh. This custom is derived from Micah 7:19, “You shall cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.”  We will meet at 4:30 pm at Gregerscroft Neighborhood Park, 12021 Gregerscroft Rd. Bring a small supply of bread to cast into the water (symbolizing casting off one’s sins) and a Mahzor for Minha.  Directions will be mailed with your tickets.

Annual Cemetery Service

Judean Memorial Gardens Sunday, October 6 @ 10:30 am with Rabbi Adam Raskin
and Garden of Remembrance Sunday, October 6 @ 10:00 am with Hazzan Ozur Bass & 2:30 pm

The annual public Memorial Service in memory of all departed will be conducted by the clergy at both:

  • Judean Memorial Gardens (16225 Batchellors Forest Road, Olney)
  • Garden of Remembrance (14321 Comus Road, Clarksburg)

This is a long-standing, uplifting custom of including the memories of our loved ones as a part of our personal reflections for the High Holy Days season.

Yom Kippur Appeal

This appeal is vital to the financial health of our congregation; dues alone do not cover our operational costs. Please help to make this our strongest year ever. Please use the payment form on page 16 in your High Holy Days Forms Packet to make your pledge.
