Carly Litwok joined our team in 2015. In just over a year she became integral to much of the synagogue’s programming and operations. For over three months Carly served as the Interim Director of the Sherman Early Childhood Center, maintaining a high level of professionalism as we searched for a permanent director. Parents, teachers, and children forged an immediate connection with her, as she kept the school on solid footing. Over the years she has served as the Membership Coordinator, Director of Membership Engagement, and Assistant Executive Director, with primary responsibility for membership recruitment and retention while and serve as a warm, reliable contact for our current members in a variety of situations. In August 2020, she was promoted to Synagogue Administrator.
Carly oversees the daily operations and finances of Har Shalom and the various duties that expand across all congregational activities. She serves as the liaison between congregants and the Board of Directors and focuses heavily on member engagement and retention.
Carly graduated from Brandeis University with a B.A. in Psychology and a Minor in Business and from Michigan State University with a M.A. in Education. She currently serves on the Membership Committee for the North American Association of Synagogue Executives (NAASE). Carly, a Bethesda native, currently lives in Potomac with her husband Danny and three year old daughter Shai.
