You are welcome to bring a dairy or parve lunch and join us at 12:00pm. The program will begin at 12:30pm.

June 18 - The Wedding Plan a movie where an Israeli woman has the hall, the date, the gown, the menu, but not the groom. Fun, poignant, heartwarming!

July 16 - The Samuel Project where a San Diego teen does a film for a school project illustrating his grandfather Samuel’s early life escaping the Nazi’s.

August 20 - Left Luggage about a man who survived the holocaust and is still living in Antwerp, Belgium 🇧🇪. He is searching for suitcases he buried as he went into hiding. His wife is burying her memories of the Shoah by eating cake. His daughter becomes more Jewish while babysitting the autistic four-year-old son of a Chasidic family.  

Sept 17 “In Search of Israeli Cuisine” Michael Solomonov, a restauranteur, goes all over Israel and showcases all the amazing cultural influences that combine into Israeli cuisine. A beautiful travel and food experience.

Oct 22 (delayed a week due to Simchat Torah) “The Door” with Helen Mirren. A touching portrait of a Hungarian woman who becomes housekeeper to a struggling writer. She ahas a secret holocaust past she keeps hidden behind her door. 

Nov 19 “The Levy’s of Monticello” After Monticello got run down, Lt. Uriah Levy, a Jewish naval officer, restored it and preserved it as a national historic landmark. Rabbi Elson has a small part in the film. 

Dec 17 “Hanukkah on Rye.” It is a heartwarming romcom where 2 rival deli owners find love at Hanukkah through an old-fashioned matchmaker from Brooklyn. Sufganyot and latkes with applesauce and sour cream, please, for snacks.
