“A Bag of Marbles” follows two young Jewish brothers, Joseph and Maurice, who flee Nazi-occupied Paris in 1942, as Hitler moves the policies of his so-called final solution into the city. It is a real-life tale of survival, based on the 1973 memoir of Joseph Joffo.  Although previously adapted for the screen, this new film aims to construct, in Joffo’s own words, a more “honest” portrayal of his experiences as a Jewish youth in occupied France.
