In our community, we all face challenges - seen and unseen - that you can help to address. Join monthly sessions to learn about issues of inequality and ways that you can take action with a diverse group of speakers, including Rabbi Raskin, hands-on activities and in-depth discussions.

 

January 13th Tolerance: How to be Comfortable Having Uncomfortable Conversations | Guest Speaker: Billy Planer, Founder of Etgar 36

Our country is divided today, not just with politics, but across the spectrum of thought, ideas, religion, and values. How do we love our neighbor if our neighbor has different views and values than I do? Explore what it means to have  uncomfortable conversations while maintaining your  ideals when others  disagree.

February 10th Inclusion Awareness: What does it mean We Are All Made in G-d's Image? | Guest Speaker: Lauren Appelbaum, VP of RespectAbility

“Do not curse a person who is deaf and do not place a stumbling block in front of a person who is blind.” (Leviticus 19:14)  How can we recognize and remove the stumbling blocks for everyone? What role can government, our schools and workplaces, and Hollywood play in creating a more inclusive society for individualswith differing abilities?

March 10th  Who Are We? | Presented by Operation Understanding DC

Explore and discuss the significance of the differences between us as well as how we're all connected. during a special Identy Workshop followed by engaging activities and group discussion.

April 21st Environmental Justice: I Speak for the Trees

Every generation plants for future generations. How do we take care of our planet so that future generations no matter where we live will benefit from clean water and clean air?

May 12th Homelessness and Poverty: All Who Hungry, Let Them Come and Eat | Guest Speakers: National Coalition for the Homeless and Bethesda Cares.

Millions of people are struggling with food insecurity and homelessness. COVID has only exacerbated  pressures that families face. Come hear stories from those who have lived with food or housing insecurity and learn how you can help.

June 9th LGBTQA Awareness: Love is Love | Guest Speaker: Ben Gersten
