The Har Shalom Clergy Team is thrilled to invite Dr.  Michal Raucher, Assistant Professor of Jewish Studies at Rutgers University, as our guest for the Cahan Weekend of Learning 2023. Her research lies, "at the intersection of Israel Studies, Jewish Ethics, and the Anthropology of Women in Judaism." She has conducted research on Reproductive Ethics of Haredi Women in Israel, and has been published on Religion and Bioethics, Abortion Legislation in Israel, and other topics.  She works to improve reproductive rights for women. Dr. Raucher will give the Sermon during Shabbat Morning Services on May 6 and be at Kiddush following services.

SATURDAY, MAY 6 at 6:30PM | Intimate discussion of real-life accounts of Abortion experiences through a Jewish lens ending with Havdalah at the home of a congregant (address will be sent prior to program)

Program intended for parents with/without their teen/young adult children

 

SUNDAY, MAY 7 any time between 9:00AM - 11:00AM | Drop-in program at Har Shalom to assemble care packages and write cards for the Potomac Family Planning Center
