“A German Life – Against All Odds,Change is Possible” by Bernd Woolschlaeger
Facilitator: Joan Levenson
A memoir from a German man who found out his father was a Nazi soldier, this story describes how history can impact and devastate a family. Woolschlaeger sets out to find answers to questions about his parents’ and his nation’s past. While doing so, he finds a new life and religion and, moving to Israel, separates from family, friends and country.
“As a Jew, committed to my belief and faith, I have no regrets about my life, but have wished for an opportunity to finally explain my decision. This book is that opportunity.”
