The theme for Good Deeds Week 2021 is Food Insecurity.

In times such as these, when our friends and neighbors are facing unprecedented health and economic crises, the call to help those in need is greater than ever. Food donations have decreased while those needing assistance has increased.

- According to the Washington Post, 1 in 7 adults in the DMV say their households do not have enough to eat.

- 199,850 children in the US face food insecurity — a 92% increase from 2018, as projected by Feeding America

- Local Food Pantries such as the Capital Area Food Bank have seen a 50% increase in those requiring meal assistance since COVID began.
