Jesus and Judaism: Why the Connection Matters
With Dr. Amy-Jill Levine
University Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies; Mary Jane Werthan Professor of Jewish Studies; Professor of New Testament Studies, Divinity School and College of Arts and Science at Vanderbilt University

Jesus of Nazareth is often seen as rejecting a Judaism incorrectly characterized as legalistic, misogynistic, vengeful, and xenophobic. Understanding Jesus in his Jewish context corrects false stereotypes, brings new meaning to his parables, politics, and piety, and it offers a new path for Jewish-Christian relations.

Back by popular demand, join us as we welcome internationally renowned scholar and teacher, Dr. Levine to our community again!

THIS PROGRAM WILL TAKE PLACE ONLINE AND ALL REGISTRANTS WILL RECEIVE THE ZOOM LINK PRIOR TO THE EVENT. LECTURE IS FREE OF CHARGE.

Amy-Jill Levine (“AJ”) is University Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies and Mary Jane Werthan Professor of Jewish Studies at Vanderbilt Divinity School and College of Arts and Sciences
