Shavuot Living Room Learning: “For the Love of the Land; A text-study about the Jewish people’s connection to Eretz Yisrael”

Saturday, May 19, 2018 5 Sivan 5778

9:00 PM - 11:00 PM

This year, we are dedicating our Shavuot learning to the topic: “For the Love of the Land;  A text-study about the Jewish people’s connection to Eretz Yisrael.”  We will explore sacred texts as well as modern writings that describe what has bound the Jewish people to this land since the days of Abraham and Sarah.  Rather than gathering at the synagogue, we are going to study in micro-communities, with wonderful hosts opening their homes for living room style learning.  Erev Shavuot is Saturday night, May 19th, and we will begin our observance in each of the homes below with Havdalah at 9:00 PM.  There will also be cheesecake, the official food of Shavuot!  You may RSVP to attend a study session at any of the homes below, or if you have no preference we can direct you to one of them.  The same texts will be studied and discussed in each home.  Our hosts are: Ron & Lesley Cooper (Claggett Farm), Darryl & Susan Grant (near Beverly Farms), Jennifer Newfeld (Newmark Commons), Mark & Hilary Weiss (near Bells Mill), & Bill Bresnick and Ellen Kaner Bresnick (Bedfordshire).
